We are Nutritional Freedom
I founded Nutritional Freedom after forging my own path back to true health after more than a decade of trying everything the diet industry could throw at me. I saw that other women deserved the peace I had found, and I’ve worked hard to develop programs that empower you to find your own path to nutritional freedom.
After a while I recognized that the NF mission is much bigger than just me, so I started to grow my team with expert practitioners. Isabel, our team’s Nutrition Coach, is also a registered dietitian. Her background is in nutrition counseling with a focus in disordered eating. With genuine understanding and compassion, she helps our clients heal their relationship with food. But health isn’t just about the food or other physical aspects, it’s mental too. That’s where Sophie comes in as NF’s Mindset Coach. Sophie supports our clients to ensure that the positive changes they’re making in their physical health are also aligned with a positive mindset.
Your experience and growth is our number one priority. We’re here to support you!
I’m a registered dietitian who’s all about balancing my real food, veggie-heavy approach to nutrition with my love of burgers, dark chocolate, and red wine. But I wasn’t always this way…
I spent the decade between ages 13 and 23 on a diet. I counted calories, tracked macros, logged Points, punished myself through exercise, the works. I’d try just about anything if I thought it would help me lose weight.
On what would turn out to be my last diet, I reached my goal weight and guess what? I still wasn’t happy. So I began to look inward to achieve the confidence I was after. I started to prioritize my mental health as much as my physical well being.
Through this shift, I learned that health fueled by self-care felt so much better than forcing myself to diet and exercise from a place of self-loathing. I learned that self-respect is at the root of self-confidence. And I saw how healing my relationship to food and my body had a positive ripple effect throughout the rest of my life– my career, my social life, and my romantic relationships.
I founded Nutritional Freedom to help other women experience this same evolution in how they view not only their health, but also themselves.
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist whose mission is to support women in healing their relationship with food and discovering autonomy in their bodies. I attended the University of Texas in Austin where I earned my BS in Nutrition and completed a supervised practice through the Coordinated Program of Dietetics. In my experience through working in the field of women’s health and eating disorders, I have experienced the value of evidence-based treatment and the power of trauma-informed care.
Here at Nutritional Freedom, I work with clients one-on-one to provide person centered nutrition counseling, as well as conduct group calls as a space to share challenges, victories, and community support. I am so grateful for the opportunity to facilitate and open powerful conversations within such intimate and vulnerable spaces. It has been my absolute joy to witness the growth of incredible women who commit to honoring their health values.
On my time off, I enjoy playing the part of the hostess with the mostest with the belief that time shared in the best time.
I’m excited you’re here with us!
I am the Mindset Coach at Nutritional Freedom. It’s likely no surprise to you that our relationships with nutrition and health are complicated. The thoughts and behaviors we often define ourselves by do not happen in a vacuum. As such, I believe that it is important to approach our health holistically.
My role at Nutritional Freedom is to help provide you with education and skills to help bolster your mental health. Specifically, I offer one on one support to clients with emotional difficulties or challenging thoughts using evidence-based psychological principles.
In addition to my work here, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at University of California, Los Angeles. Despite my west coast address, my heart belongs to the east coast where I earned my BS at the University of Georgia and completed my MA at New York University in psychology and neuroscience.
